STREET SWEEPING

April 26th, 2022
7:00am
4:30pm
STREET SWEEPING will begin next week. The Town is hoping to maintain a regular schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Streets/avenues to receive sweeping will be determined on Friday afternoons & announced the following week, subject to weather or emergency maintenance.
Signage will be put out the night before to give residents time to remove vehicles, carts, etc. from the street. Not only is this for the safety of your vehicles, but the sweeper can do a better job of cleaning without having to sweep around obstacles. Also, the risk of your vehicle being pelted with rocks is eliminated.
Next Wednesday, April 27th & Thursday, April 28th, Herbert Avenue will receive a sweeping from Thompson Street down to Lobethal Street. Please avoid driving on Herbert Avenue from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. by using an alternate route.

How Property Assessment Works in SK

April 7th, 2022
8:30am
4:30pm

Click on the highlighed link to view SAMA's informational pamphlet regarding: How Property Assessment Works in Saskatchewan. It clarifies SAMA's role in the assessment process.

Once the municipal assessment roll has been completed, homeowners are given the opportunity to appeal a property assessment. However, it's important to understand that the appeal process is about appealing an error in the assessed value of your property or classification of your property; homeowner's cannot appeal their tax levy.

Tax Enforcement - 2021 Arrears

April 7th, 2022
8:30am
4:30pm

Unfortunately, the Town has to take steps to ensure individual property taxes are kept in check & owners given the opportunity to amend their tax roll prior to the current year tax levy being rolled out, which will be June 1st of this year.

On April 1st, anyone with outstanding amounts received a statement from us outlining the total amount due. You'll have to call the office for the actual levy amount if you don't have the 2021 Tax Notice at hand. Essentially, 1/2 of the levy amount plus arrears (interest charges, etc.) must be paid by May 15th in order for your property not to be included in the tax enforement process. A call to the Town CAO, would not go amiss at this point & encourage those to do so if full payment isn't possible.
